MIFA’s Something Good in Memphis campaign is designed to celebrate those who make Memphis better, whether it’s the stranger who helps change your flat tire in the rain or a human services pioneer who changes the lives of a hundred poor Memphians. Sometimes people tend to focus on the bad and forget the good, but we see reminders of the good in Memphis every day!

 

Nominating is quick and easy – just fill out our simple form! Nominate friends, neighbors,and colleagues whose daily efforts or remarkable deeds embody the spirit of positive action in our community.Thank you for being a part of the good in Memphis!

Nathan Harmeier goes Above and Beyond for Memphis

Nathan Harmeier is definitely Something Good in Memphis. "Nathan always thinks of other first. He is the owner of Above and Beyond Electric. The name speaks for itself. He is always going Above and Beyond for his customer. His main reason for going into business is to help other. Once a month his staff volunteers for MIFA's Meals on Wheels program. Wendy Garrison is Something Good in Memphis

"Wendy is a MIFA Volunteer Long-Term Care Ombudsman at Court Manor Nursing Center in Memphis. In December, Wendy arranged with her co-workers at Mid-South Transplant Foundation to sponsor a Christmas party for Court Manor residents. "Upon hearing that we had not been able to get a Christmas tree, Bobby and his kids delivered one to our doorstep that very afternoon, just days before Christmas. It made my wife's Christmas." Sheryl Walls works diligently for the people

Sheryl Walls is Something Good in Memphis and nominated for the second time! "Mrs. Walls works diligently for people. She is very active in her church and in the community and always displays a giving spirit and seeks nothing in return. Donna Rhodes makes the holidays special for seniors!

Donna Rhodes is Something Good in Memphis.  She put her mind to making the holidays special for the homebound Meals clients that MIFA serves.  Almost half of these Meals recipients report that they see family or friends less than once per week, but Donna made sure that they would have a special holiday season.  On Christmas, along with Meals, volunteers will deliver gift bags to over 1,000 seniors. Janet Schultz bakes up Something Good for the holidays

"Janet is Something Good in Memphis. For the past several years, during Christmas Holidays she bakes assorted "yummy" breads to raise funds to purchase gifts for the local Toys For Tots children. Mpact Memphis committees work to make Memphis better

"The Member Connections and Community Service Committees of MPACT Memphis are something good in Memphis because of their continual efforts to give back to the community. Paragon Bank employees build wheelchair ramp for Fletcher Cleaves

This past Sunday, a group of employees from Paragon National Bank proved that they are truly Something Good in Memphis. They turned out in mass to help make life better for a member of our community. Johanna Ellis is making the holidays great!

Johanna Ellis is Something Good in Memphis.  She is leading her team at work to make Memphis better this holiday season! "Johanna is Operations Manager at Park It Here by the airport in Memphis. They are participating in the Salvation Army's Angel Tree donations this holiday season, and offering a free day of parking to any customer who brings a gift for a needy child or senior citizen. Bev Tucker stays busy helping others

Bev stays busy helping others. She is a leader in Community Bible Study, which involves easily 8 hrs. a week. She also knits caps and takes them to the West Clinic every other week to personally give to patients in need of one. She volunteers once a week at Paige-Robbins Alzheimer's Center,where she runs a bingo game with prizes that she finds and buys.Also once a year she spends a week in Illinois with her sister making Christmas boxes for Operation Christmas Child.This year she and her sister...
